Modrokamenna bouda (Blue-stone Chalet) is located in the Giant Mountains (Krkonose) in the town of Janske Lazne in a nice place near a mountain meadow surrounded by forest. It is a peaceful place and just 2km from the centre of Janske Lazne at the same time. On the mountain (787m above sea level), there is a flat area around the guest-house on a 3 hectare meadow.
The name Blue-stone Chalet (Modrokamenna bouda) is derived from a rock formation called Blue Stones situated near the chalet.
Thanks to its perfect location, the house is suitable not only for a winter holiday, but also for year-long usage and relaxation. Our services will satisfy families with children, individuals, larger groups, pensioners, mountain bikers, sport-training camps, company workshops and events for children. If you want to enjoy some more entertainment, you can visit Janske Lazne, a centre with many entertainment facilities.
The Modrokamenna bouda guest-house was fully renovated in 2001 and its capacity amounts to 45 beds plus extra beds. There are rooms with 2 up to 5 beds and one room with 6 beds. In every room, there is SAT TV. All rooms are equipped with private facilities (shower and toilet). There is also the possibility of renting a child bed.
You can order either half board or just breakfast, which is served in the form of a buffet. As for the lunch, there is a rich menu provided by the restaurant. Of course, full board is possible as well.
Smoking is forbidden in the whole guest-house except for the bar. In summer, guests have the opportunity to play football tennis or volleyball on a sport ground near the chalet, use a smaller football pitch, and play table skittles. For children, there is a playground. A grill and fireplace with seating are also available. The guest-house is surrounded by many cycling routes marked as 27 and 1B as well as by hiking ones. We are prepared to provide you with some tips for your trip.
In the restaurant, there is a TV and DVD as well, on which you can watch sport matches or use them for educational or training purposes. Concerning evening entertainment, there is the possibility to play table soccer or bowling. Internet access is provided too. After all-day exhaustion, you will certainly appreciate our relaxing facilities, a sauna with a pool, and afterwards you can jump right into the snow as there is a direct exit.
Of course, we are prepared to welcome those who will visit our restaurant during their mountain hiking. Try our home cuisine or blueberry specialties.
Approximately 200m from the chalet, there are lighted ski-lifts in lengths of 400 and 500m, called Kostalka. Cerna hora is available by the Idyla ski-lift, which is directly connected with chair lift and a Protez four-seat lift. Back to the guest-house, you can get from Cerna hora on skis from the Cerna bouda hotel round the Pardubicke boudy. There is also a possibility to get to the lower station of the Kostalka ski-lift and use the lift to get to the Modrokamenna bouda.
Just one ticket is valid for all the ski-lifts. In winter on the place of the court, we make an ice rink. You will need just ice skates, as the hockey sticks are provided by us.
In winter, Cerna hora is surrounded by cross-country ski routes in the overall length of 50km, which are regularly maintained. There is a 3.5km sledge route. In the ski-arena, there are a few maintained downhill runs, the longest slope measures 3km and is covered by synthetic snow according to snow conditions. You will reach the top by the cabin railway or Protez four seat lift and by the Andel ski-lift. During the last ride you may ski down right to our chalet.
In summer, a car park is available directly by the guest-house. In winter, the transfer of luggage and people from a car park situated in the distance of 1.5km from the house is provided for free.
Janske Lazne, together with Spindleruv Mlyn and Pec pod Snezkou, belongs to the most important winter sport regions of the Giant Mountains. Cerna hora provides skiers with the first and the last snow of the year in the Czech Republic.
